Resources for Homeowners/Landlords

The Lead Safe Housing Registry is a listing of dwellings in the City of St. Louis (both owner-occupied and rental units) that indicates the known paint conditions for the selected address. City Ordinance and HUD lead grants require that this information be available to citizens. The Lead Safe Housing Registry is maintained by the Lead Safe St. Louis Section of the City of St. Louis Building Division. Available lead safe rental property is listed at www.socialserve.com.

Federal law requires that landlords and homeowners of housing built before 1978 provide tenants and subsequent owners with certain information about the potential for lead-based paint. The pamphlet “Protect Your Family from Lead in Your Home” must be provided to these tenants and subsequent owners. For color or translated versions of the most recent copy of this pamphlet, visit http://www2.epa.gov/lead/protect-your-family-lead-your-home-real-estate-disclosure.
